SL for distant education

Today I have met a beautiful bunch of people taken inworld by Andre Genesini, helped by Renata, who performed and let me perform a presentation that was streamed in a real life conference held by the Brasilian ABED - Associação Brasileira de Educação a Distância, held at the UNISINOS University sim (many thanks to Violet to have been a wonderful host).

I enjoyed so much all the surprise and exciting expectation all this educators and students had hearing the infinite possibility in distant education and e-learning that Second Life hides in itself.

I hope to see as soon as possible new educative projects held by distant educators to people that can't reach or follow a complete real classroom courses.

If only we could see all universities connected to Second Life to share knowledge in a virtual classroom, we will have both a lowering of the costs of attending a real course, a lowering of CO2 emissions and a raising of classroom attendance.

The play to train education type also has a confirmed positive impact on the learning curve.

Furthermore, the upcoming changes into Second Life itself will better educational performance.

Second Life is not game and has unlimited possibilities to show educative content together with a wide and growing community from all over the world.

Stay tuned
